Regional Foster Families are creating a project to make sure all young people living with our foster families are listened to and are actively involved in the development of services we provide.
We are already running events and groups, and this project will bring together all the good stuff as well as add to it.
STEP 1: Vote for your logo! – COMPLETE
We have asked some graphic designers to create a logo to represent the “Your Voice” Project using our 3 elephants.
There are 4 logos to chose from and voting will take place via an online vote – the favourite logo with the highest vote will then be used for all events and documents related to you having your say and being listened to.
See below for the different logos and vote! Use the left the right arrow buttons (or swipe left and right) to flick through the logos…
Step 2: Rights Workshops
We will hold workshops explaining your rights as a child as outlined under the United Nations Convention as well as a consultation exercise about “What makes a good Foster Parent”?
Step 3: Children and Young People’s Groups
Where there is not yet a group set up for foster children and young people to meet regularly and feed back to the Director and Managers, this will be initiated and be supported to develop.
Step 4: Potential Foster Parents and Staff
Regional Foster Families want to promote your input in the “Skills to Foster” preparation training for potential foster parents as well as interview panels for recruiting staff. This will be developed in each region as an ongoing activity where it is not already occurring.
Step 5: Fun, Creative and Meaningful Consultation Events
Regional and national fun, creative and meaningful consultation events (both face to face and virtual) will be embedded into the service as regular events to ensure we are always listening to you as well as learning from you.
Target date for completion of steps 1-5 across Regional Foster Families in all our 6 regions is: December 2022.
Have Your Say
We are really looking forward working with you to “Have your Say” and excited to make Regional Foster Families a safer and better place where we actively listen to you and strive to fulfil our mission statement every day:
“For us to believe in our children and work in a way that makes our children believe in themselves.”
Thank you for being you and for taking part.
