    Thinking About Fostering

We are a family owned independent agency.

No corporate suits, no treating people as numbers. We value people, children and families and put them first and foremost. Our Director has over 30 years social work experience. Our management team has a good, simple and effective structure.

We have a small business ethos: We are small enough to react quickly and maintain flexibility to make prompt decisions locally.

We provide a personal foster experience.

We have local offices and local teams. We listen to our foster carers and are able to provide a customised service to each locality and even down to each individual person.

The whole family fosters and has a voice with us…
We know that the whole family fosters, not just the adults. So we consider and listen to your children, as well as you and the foster children.

      No Jargon
We try hard to use plain English and help to translate social care acronyms and jargon.

We offer a multitude of types of foster care.
We provide and support many different types of foster care including: Siblings, therapeutic, parent and child, unaccompanied minors, respite / short break, long term and short term care.

We pay our foster carers a competitive allowance – weekly.

Maintain a focus on what is best for the child.

This means giving the right support, making good decisions, putting in extra services when needed. It is very important to us that children have the best possible experience while in foster care and their needs, thoughts, feelings, and futures are paramount to our decision making.

We employ dedicated and experienced staff

To say we are proud of our staff is an understatement. Our Social Work staff maintain low numbers in their case loads which means they have time to focus on supporting foster parents. In addition, they often go “the extra mile”.

      Participation and activities

We Genuinely value and encourage participation and have initiatives for foster carer, foster family, birth children and foster children’s participation.

      Fun Activity Days
We organise regular local activities, such as theme parks, meals, theatre trips and many more. We listen to the foster family’s and young people’s feedback when planning these. These days out are always well attended by staff and families so it gives everyone an opportunity to get to know each other and mingle.

Holiday pay and time off / breaks

We have a holiday incentive scheme. We offer increased allowance payments to foster parents who take foster children on holiday with them. We strongly believe foster children should be able to experience holidays with their foster families. It is a great opportunity to have experiences away from the usual environment and we hope they will look back on holidays with fond memories.

As part of the holiday incentive scheme, we offer paid breaks from fostering to foster families. We understand at times things can be challenging for everyone in the family and we believe under the right conditions this can be a great value to help support those who need a break.

      Excellent training and support

      Support Groups
We have regular foster carer support groups running on a monthly bases. Foster parents can meet, catch up and offer each other advice.

      Support workers and specialists
We employ and have access to many dedicated trainers, family support workers, therapists, health and education specialists.

      Excellent and Flexible Training
Our excellent training provision includes training courses lead by practitioners, professional trainers and foster carers and we have a plethora of online training courses at our disposal. We work closely together to ensure greater flexibility, learning and development and assess training needs across different localities  to support our families with developing their skills.

      Supportive Relationships
We work hard to form and maintain supportive relationships with foster families; Foster Parents become our colleagues.
