It can be a challenge, and it could be a daunting prospect to welcome an unaccompanied asylum-seeking child into your home. But it is an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling thing to do at the same time.

How do we provide support to our foster parents who care for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)?

We provide a host of services to help support both foster carers and the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children which include:

Our house therapeutic parenting lead providing direct one on one, as well as group support and training for foster parents.
We provide ‘welcome boxes’ for all the children and young people placed in the care of our foster parents; that have been thoughtfully put together by our team with items for the child. For example, in the case of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children these may include a prayer mat and a dual language dictionary.
